Tomorrow will be the last class of “Mystic Soul Dance” in the divine @soulhumstudios. After tomorrow there will be no more drop in classes while Soul Hum takes a summer break. (There will still be courses and workshops happening.) I’m so incredibly grateful for the deeply fulfilling experience I’ve had teaching here. The COMMUNITY! The teachers! The connections made. The personal growth. This class in particular is the most unique, creative and enchanting class I’ve ever taught. And I’ve taught a lot so that’s saying something. Join me tomorrow at 9:30am and let’s dance with our souls, meditate and marinate in all the beauty within this room and within our hearts. Change is the only constant. Let’s embrace it y’all! (Pic: Here we are after the first Mystic Soul Dance class, blissed the foo out, with @camilladallerup @wendijcohen). @natalie.kiwi 💙💙💙 Hope to see you tomorrow: @alicialipinski @__manuboyer__ @edensassoon @carenconrad @highonwholesome and all the wonder people who’s insta handle I do not have. ✌🏽🧘🏻‍♀️💫 #meditation #dance #aromatherapy #reiki

(REMEMBER) Outta this world Reiki sesh with @juliechristie55 tonight. This woman is 🔥🔥🔥. Her vibes all are sorts-a buzzy feel good, and that was BEFORE we started 😍✨. Nothing gets me inspired more than hanging out with other dope souls. Really...I get to rap with your soul for the session and it is my biggest reminder of why I do this work...why I answer my calling. I'm not a healer, I'm a guide. You know your way home, you know your path within. I'm just a little sign along the way as a reminder. 📷: @meg_marie_photo . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #beginwithin #womentrepreneurs #inspiredbytanya #reikienergy #reikiusui #spiritualgangster #imavibrantwoman #goodvibesonly #neverstopexploring #livebigger #liveagreatstory #soulsessions #yogateacher #findyourwhy #badassbabe #manifestation #knowthyself #selenite #guidedmeditation

. Neuroscience shows, more or less, that the ‘self’ we think of when we think of ourselves colloquially/conventionally is little more than a series of maze-like, labyrinthian synaptic connections between our ears. From this perspective, the ‘self’ is merely the thoughts you think the most. Think the same thought again and again and it becomes a literal pathway in your brain, eventually hardening into a ‘belief’. You believe what you think the most. What’s truth got to do with it? Nothing. More often than not, our thoughts are more neurotic circling than earth-shaking profundities. • Those thoughts and their chemically-driven consequences, called emotions, have the strongest synaptic connections, born of the repetitive thinking we engage in. To wit: studies show that 99% of what we think today, we thought yesterday. And the day before and the day before like a nauseous hall of mirrors, it goes on and on. It’s called getting sick of yourself. Change it up! • Eastern thought shares the same view albeit with a different language and belief system. One stance amid many in Buddhism: you’re in an argument with someone. Decibel points fly out of their mouth, hitting your eardrums. You feel heat rising in your body, your mouth going dry, your body tensing in fight or flight anticipation. Now step back. • Did the person draw a bow + arrow back with ‘anger poison’ on the tip and release it, striking you in your heart? Is he or she ‘making’ you angry? You made me so angry!! Or are your thoughts about it making you angry? It’s worth contemplating. I think Decartes took it a bit too far with the ‘I think therefore I am’ business but you get the picture. • Thoughts become things. You are precisely this body and this mind. Hallelujah. If you can point to some other you, please do. You know what I’m going to say next....Meditate + get control of your thoughts! If you’re a lady, join us on the Infinity Call. Do you even sit, bro? 🧘🏼‍♀️ . . I’m not even going to pretend to lie. I don’t love meditating. I actually sort of don’t like sitting generally, regardless of whether it’s in a meditation setting or just in some other context. It’s uncomfortable for my body. But I also understand the benefits, so I’m trying to embrace the practice of sitting and stillness. I actually love my restorative yoga practice and always savor my time in savasana. And I used to think they were all the same. And they aren’t. Seated meditation is a discipline, a practice. It takes time and it takes both a physical and mental commitment to embrace it fully. 🌿 . . I’ll be continuing Meditation Monday prompts on IG stories to help other meditation novices like me start a semi-regular practice. If it’s not your thing, believe me, I get it. But decide it’s not for you for the right reasons. The need to move should be balanced with the space for stillness. If meditation isn’t the pipeline for you, no worries. If it is, great. If you’d like to join along, fabulous. And if restorative yoga is more your thing, good news, I’ll be subbing at CorePower Shattuck on Sunday June 3 at 7:15pm. See you then. 🙏🏼 . . #meditation #meditationmonday #sitting #yoga #meditationpractice #guidedmeditation

I know, I know... you don’t think you have time for meditation. I GET IT. Seriously, I do. Want to know HOW I get it? I’m a working single mom of 2 littles (full time) finishing up a yearlong nutrition course while balancing karate and dance lessons, healthy eating for 3 hungry humans, laundry, cleaning, and ALL THE THINGS. I told you, I totally get it. BUT... there are tremendous benefits to squeezing in just 5-10 minutes per day. 2 months of that and you can actually boost your immune system and reduce inflammation. Plus, afterwards you feel like you’ve had a power nap and who doesn’t want that?! I have found that, for me and others I know, apps like @headspace and @calm are perfect for quickly getting your mind into a meditative state without diverting too much time away from all the things. I seriously did a 10 minute meditation the other day right before picking up my kids, in my car pulled over in the back of a parking lot. It felt amazing and re-centered me instantly. Try it! 🧘🏻‍♀️🙌🏻🕉 #meditation #guidedmeditation #balance #healthbenefits #headspace #calm #meditationapps #focus #recenter #findingtime #healthyliving #wellness #healthcoach

What is love? Love is a tricky thing. The word itself inspires so many different emotions, different memories, and different definitions for everyone. Have I ever been in love? I might have said it to one person, I might have said it to five — but how many times did I really mean it? I might have meant it all the times I’ve said it, but looking back, each ‘love’ felt different.
